Animal Welfare Organization
PRADHIKAR (প্রাধিকার) is a volunteer-based, non-political organization founded by students of Sylhet Agricultural University. The organization is dedicated to promoting animal welfare and biodiversity conservation in the Sylhet region of Bangladesh. It focuses on raising awareness about animal rights, encouraging ethical treatment of animals and fostering sustainable environmental practices through community outreach and educational programs.
Md. Mosharof Hosen began his journey with PRADHIKAR as an enthusiastic student and served as the Organizing Secretary, where he played a key role in planning events, mobilizing volunteers, and structuring grassroots activities. Md. Hosen was responsible for planning and executing the organization’s core activities, including animal welfare awareness events, tree plantation drives, environmental clean-up efforts and educational seminars.
Beyond logistics, Md. Hosen also contributed to idea development, event branding and public engagement. He cooperated to connect students with faculty and the broader public more effectively. His contributions helped lay a solid foundation for future organizational growth and inspired many juniors to take up leadership roles.
Save The Frogs Day is the world’s largest day of amphibian education and action, dedicated to raising awareness about the threats faced by frogs and other amphibians. Since 2012, Pradhikar has proudly observed this international event as part of its broader mission to promote biodiversity, animal rights and environmental responsibility. As Joint Secretary of Pradhikar, Md Mosharof Hosen played a vital role in the success and expansion of Save The Frogs Day. His contributions include: Coordinating event planning and logistics, ensuring the smooth execution of awareness rallies, exhibitions and lectures.
Md Mosharof Hosen actively represented Pradhikar, the student-led animal welfare and conservation organization of Sylhet Agricultural University, at the 4th International Exhibition of Dairy, Aqua, and Pet (IEDAP) held from March 8-10, 2018 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka. As a delegate of Pradhikar, Md. Hosen operated from a stall allocated by AHCAB to the organization in recognition of its contributions to animal welfare. During the exhibition, he communicated with local and international visitors, introduced them to Pradhikar’s mission and activities and distributed informative leaflets to raise awareness about animal rights and biodiversity conservation.
Md Mosharof Hosen has had a distinguished journey within PRADHIKAR, beginning his service as Organizing Secretary, where he was responsible for event planning and volunteer mobilization. He was later appointed Office Secretary, overseeing internal coordination and documentation. Owing to his dedication and leadership, he was eventually promoted to Joint Secretary, a role in which he coordinated major campaigns, managed inter-organizational collaboration and contributed significantly to the organization’s growth and impact.
Upon the completion of his active term, Md. Hosen’s contributions were formally recognized by PRADHIKAR’s Advisory Panel, who honored him with a crest and a volunteering certificate. This gesture acknowledged his exceptional commitment, leadership and lasting impact on the organization.
